What is the difference between copy-editing and proofreading?

Copy-editing improves language and consistency before layout. Proofreading catches residual errors in the final formatted pages.

Will my writing still sound like me?

Yes. Changes are made with the author’s voice and intended reader in mind, and substantive queries remain transparent.

Do you use Irish or UK English?

We establish the appropriate language convention and record decisions in the style sheet.

When is a manuscript ready for copy-editing?

The structure and content should be settled. If major revisions are still likely, an editorial assessment or developmental edit may be the better first step.

Can you proofread an already designed PDF?

Yes. Proofreading is completed on final or near-final page proofs so we can check both the words and layout-related issues such as headings, page references and spacing.
